AU PARLEMENT EUROPÉEN, union sacrée derrière l’OTAN
IN THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT, « national unity » / sacred union behind NATO
« Workers of the world, let’s unite against war and exploitation! » Statement by the Independent and Democratic Workers Party (POID)
The entry of Russian troops into Ukraine on 24 February marks a turning point in the months-long escalation between Russia and the NATO countries led by the US administration.
It is now a full-blown war. It is aimed at denying the Ukrainian nation any sovereignty and imposing Great Russian domination anew.
For the workers, young people and peoples of the world who love freedom and independence, the demand is clear: withdrawal of Russian troops! Putin: Hands off Ukraine!
Putin's aggression against Ukraine does not make the responsibility of Biden, Macron and other imperialist governments disappear those who for months now have been pushing for confrontation through their provocations, their policy of military encirclement of Russia and the concentration of NATO troops on its borders.
[...]IWC is consistent on the stand that “This war is disastrous for the working class.” Nambiath Vasudevan
Statement by Nambiath Vasudevan from India, coordinator with Daniel Gluckstein (France) of the International Workers' Committee against War and Exploitation, for a Workers International (IWC).
This war is disastrous for the working class. The war that is now taking place in Ukraine will lead to an increase of the price of goods and especially of fuel. That will increase the prices of cooking gas for the common man; the prices of petrol and oil are already very high, now they say it will go to 100 dollars on the people. In India, at the moment there is a freeze on petrol and diesel prices because of elections due in March, and once the elections are over, it is feared that because of the war in Ukraine, the prices of those items will go beyond any reasonable even imagination.
[...]No to War, no to Exploitation! Daniel Gluckstein
Editorial of Workers’ Tribune (French POID’s weekly) by Daniel Gluckstein, France, coordinator with Namiath Vasudevan (India) of the International Workers' Committee against War and Exploitation, for a Workers International (IWC). February 22, 5 pm.
At the time of this writing, no one knows what the outcome of the escalation toward war in Eastern Europe will be. Anything is possible. But there are a number of things that we do know. We know that the peoples have no interest in a confrontation. The Russian worker is not the enemy of the Ukrainian worker, who is not the enemy of the Russian worker. The French worker is not the enemy of the Russian worker, nor of the Ukrainian worker, nor of the U.S. worker.

RUSSIA « The Workers Do Not Want War! » – Interview of Alexei [1], Trade Union Activist of the Solidarity Platform
Alexei: It is a confrontation between two economic and military blocs. On one side, NATO, on the other, China and Russia. Ukraine is only one of the fields in this confrontation. The Ukrainian working class is suffering from its own government and is under pressure from both East and West.
In my opinion, both sides do not intend to go to a world war, but any slippage or provocation could lead to it. In the areas of the so-called "people's republics," the war has never really stopped since 2014. But a world war is not part of the imperialist plans at the moment.
