IMMEDIATE HALT TO THE ISRAELI OFFENSIVE AGAINST RAFAH!

For the past twenty-four hours, the Israeli air force has been stepping up its bombardment of Rafah, where crowds of 1.5 million thirsty, starving and exhausted Palestinians are crammed together. The tanks have entered Rafah, cutting off the last checkpoint that allowed the passage of scant humanitarian aid, which was already not being distributed in adequate quantities. There is ‘no safe place to shelter’ the 600,000 children in Rafah, according to UNICEF. It is planned and deliberate slaughter.

The statements by Biden, Macron and Borrell, the European Union’s chief diplomat, paying lip service to protest against this crime, are pure and simple hypocrisy. It is their uninterrupted supply of arms that enables Netanyahu to embark on this new phase of genocide! It is their agreement of association between Israel and the European Union and their diplomatic relations that make Netanyahu so brazen!

The Parti des Travailleurs, which fights for “Not one penny, not one weapon, not one man for war”, be it for arms supplies to Israel or to Ukraine, condemns the complicity of the French government.

We insist: the responsibility of the leaders of the major organisations of the workers’ movement is to organise the mobilisation of workers the world over to impose the end of the genocide. This is an emergency!

No to the offensive against Rafah! Stop the Genocide!

Stop all military or financial aid to Israel! Break all diplomatic relations with Netanyahu!

On these slogans, the Parti des Travailleurs calls on workers, activists and young people to participate in the gathering called for May 7 in Paris (5:30 pm, Place de la République) and in the rallies called for in the provinces.
